Women's Track & Field Finishes Weekend at URI

THE BASICS

-Meet: Coaches Tribute Meet

-Location: University of Rhode Island

-The Lead: The Assumption College women's track & field team competed at the Coaches Tribute Meet at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Junior Katherine Eckerson (Simsbury, Conn. / Westminster School) earned 1st place for Assumption in the Triple Jump finals with a 10.87 meter mark.

-Senior Emily Casella (Athol, Mass. / Athol) took 2nd place in the Shot Put finals with a 12.81 meter mark. She also earned 10th place in the Weight Throw event with a 14.50 meter mark.

-Senior Kialeigh Marston (Standish, Maine / Bonny Eagle) placed 4th in the Mile finals, crossing the finish line in 5:12.22.

-Sophomore Victoria Steffon (Holden, Mass. / Wachusett Regional) took home 6th place overall in the 60 Meter race with a time of 7.93.

-First year Peri Lynn Snow (East Bridgewater, Mass. / East Bridgewater) earned 7th place in the women's 1000 Meter finals in a time of 3:08.13.

-Sophomore Claudia Koontz (Concord, Mass. / Concord-Carlisle Regional), junior Elena DelloRusso (Milford, Mass. / Milford), senior Madeleine Iassogna (Marietta, Ga. / Blessed Trinity Catholic), and junior Emma Santee (Westerly, R.I. / Westerly) teamed up in the 4X400 Relay and earned Assumption 2nd place overall in 4:09.19.

-Freshman Evelyn Kitchen (Gorham, Maine / Gorham) and sophomore Abigail McKeown (Plainville, Mass. / King Philip Regional) shared the 4th place in the women's High Jump finals with a 1.55 meter mark.

-Junior Amelie Legg (Hamden, N.Y. / Delaware Academy) took home 8th place in the Pole Vault finals with a 2.90 meter mark.

-Santee earned second place overall in the Long Jump finals with a 5.49 meter mark.

UP NEXT

-Assumption is back in action on Saturday, February 14th and 15th when they travel to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
