Chappell Earns ITA Scholar-Athlete Award

WORCESTER, Mass. - Rising senior, Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) of the Assumption University women's tennis team, was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as a Scholar-Athlete for her outstanding performance in the classroom throughout the 2019-2020 academic year.

In 2020, 762 Division II Women student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar Student-Athlete. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

"I am extremely proud of Julia for earning the ITA Scholar-Athlete Award. She works extremely hard on the court and in the classroom and it is important to have that hard-work recognized. Julia continues to lead by example and I am excited to see what she brings to the table next season," said head coach Megan Pirez.
