Men's Ice Hockey to Host Benefit Game and Alumni Day on February 15

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption College men's ice hockey team is excited to announce their Alumni Game and Benefit Game will be held on Saturday, February 15th during their Northeast-10 Conference game against Southern N.H. at 7:30 p.m. The Greyhounds will be collecting donations and raising awareness for the Shine Initiative.

"We are looking forward to seeing our alumni back at Buffone Arena on Saturday, and raising awareness for a great organization, The Shine Initiative," said head coach, Michael Looney.

The Shine Initiative is a nonprofit organization based out of Worcester, Mass. Their mission is to combat discrimination and to destigmatize mental health conditions in children and young adults. They work with schools and communities throughout North Central and Central, Mass. and are expanding to the MetroWest, Nashoba Valley, and Southeast areas. The Shine Initiative strives for personal connections, collaborations, and above all else, to show that youth voices truly matter in the effort to make mental health a mainstream public health issue.

The Greyhounds will be selling t-shirts throughout the week and at the game. The team will also be wearing special jerseys that will be sold at the end of the game. All proceeds will support the Shine Initiative.
