HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Assumption 2, Lake Erie 2
-Lake Erie scored first with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Assumption tied the game in the top of the eighth (1-1). The Hounds and the Storm both added runs in the 10th innings as the game was called in a 2-2 final tie.
-Senior Corbin Paxton was 1-for-5 with one run scored for Lake Erie and senior Caleb Waller finished 1-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI.
-Lake Erie put up four hits while the Hounds combined for three.
-Junior Cole Chudoba (Oxford, Conn. / Oxford) pitched eight innings for Assumption and struck out six batters.
-Sophomore Tyler Bryant went eight innings on the mound for the Storm and struck out 10 batters.
Game Two: Lake Erie 8, Assumption 7
-Assumption and Lake Erie were tied 5-5 after four complete innings. The Storm put up three runs in the top of the seventh to pull ahead 8-5. The Hounds made a bid at a comeback with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but Lake Erie was able to get the third out to secure the 8-7 victory.
-Sophomore Connor Wironen (Leominster, Mass. / Saint Bernard's) went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Junior Dillon Koster (Woburn, Mass. / Woburn / Marist College) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI while sophomore Jake Hamel (Uxbridge, Mass. / Saint John's) finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
-Senior Caleb Waller led Lake Erie at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Senior Brady Minetti went 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs while junior Trace Peterson was 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI in the victory.
-Sophomore Patrick Harrington (Bedford, N.H. / Bedford) started on the mound for Assumption. He went three innings, allowed six hits, four runs scored, and struck out two batters.
-Red-shirt senior Ryan Lally earned the win for Lake Erie, going 3.1 innings, allowing four hits, three runs scored, and fanning four batters.
