WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption College Department of athletics is pleased to support Catholic Relief Services (CRS) with the fifth annual Hounds4CRS fundraiser, held during the men's and women's basketball doubleheader on Saturday, January 18th, which begins at 1:30 p.m. in Laska Gymnasium.
CRS is one of the largest global relief organizations in the world. Hounds4CRS is a fundraiser to increase awareness about all the humanitarian work CRS does, as well as raise money for the organization. As part of the event, admission to the basketball doubleheader will be waived and there will be various raffles for Assumption students and the local community.
Since the College was named the first institution of higher learning in New England to become an official CRS Global Campus, Assumption has raised more than $23,000 to support the humanitarian work of CRS.
CRS serves more than 136 million people in 110 countries across the world. When natural or man-made disasters impact the innocent, CRS dispatches teams to provide for their immediate and long-term needs. Long after the initial impact of these natural or man-made calamities, CRS remains to ensure that needs are met and recovery continues.
