Marston Finishes Strong at NCAA Cross Country Championships

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Assumption junior Kialeigh Marston (Standish, Maine / Bonny Eagle) finished 162nd in the 2018 Women's Cross Country National Championships on Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Marston finished the soggy 6K in 25:10.9, while moving up 12 places over her final 1.1K for her best finish at the NCAA Championships and more than 60 spots better than her effort last year. Also competing on Saturday, Stonehill placed 14th in the nation as a team while Merrimack was 27th overall. 

Assumption has now had a runner compete in the NCAA Championships four of the past five years and Marston is the second Hound ever to run three times, joining former standout Antonia Pagliuca. Grand Valley State won the National Championship, putting four of its runners in the top ten, led by Sarah Berger who won the race in 22:07.7.
