Women's Volleyball Picked 13th in Preseason Coaches Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption Women's Volleyball team was chosen 13th in the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll in a vote of the league's 14 head coaches, as announced by the conference earlier today.

The Hounds earned a total 28 points and were seven points behind Franklin Pierce, who earned 35 in the 12th spot. Adelphi earned the top spot with 159 total points and seven first place votes followed by American International, who garnered four first place votes for a total of 156 points. New Haven took third with 153 points and three first place votes with Southern New Hampshire (112) taking fourth. Southern Connecticut (106) and Saint Anselm (106) tied for the fifth spot to round out the top five.

Last year Assumption went 3-18 overall, with a 3-11 record in the conference earning wins over Saint Michael's, Merrimack and Franklin Pierce. The team returns two seniors along with bringing in five new athletes.

The Hounds begin their season with a pair of matches against Southern Connecticut and Caldwell in Connecticut on Sept. 7.
