THE BASICS:
- Event: NE10 Outdoor Championships

- Location: Penmen Stadium (Manchester, N.H.)
- The Lead: Assumption placed second at the NE10 Outdoor Championships for the first time in program history and were just 16 points behind Stonehill, thanks to four individual NE10 Titles and two more runner-up finishes on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Kialeigh Marston (Standish, Maine / Bonny Eagle) won her fourth career individual NE10 Title, taking the 3000 meter steeplechase in 11:06.49 and winning by over six seconds early in the day. Marston then won the 5000 meters in the afternoon and her time of 17:24.75 seconds won the event by over 20 seconds. The junior also was victorious the NE10 1500 meters on Friday and was one of two NE10 women to win three different events at the NE10 Championships this year.
- Senior Abby Jones (Arlington, Mass. / Arlington) won the heptathlon for the third straight year, this year earning victory with a score of 4,505 points. Sophomore Emma Santee (Westerly, R.I. / Westerly) placed second with 4240 points, while Therese Rembetsy-Brown (Westminster, Mass. / Oakmont) took fifth with 3,678 points, and Olivia DeMonico (North Reading, Mass. / North Reading) totaled 3510 points in sixth. Jones also took third in the high jump event with a height of 1.64 meters.
- Emily Casella (Athol, Mass. / Athol) claimer her first NE10 Title, winning the discus with a toss of 42.28 and breaking her own school record by almost two meters. She also earned her second runner-up finish of the weekend with a throw of 13.58 meters in the shot put. sophomore Mikaylah Schwartz (Dracut, Mass. / Dracut) came through with a fourth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 12.23 meters, while Megan Sheehan (Newton, N.H. / Sanborn Regional) was seventh in the discus with a throw of 37.90 meters.
- In the 4x100 relay, Assumption placed fourth in a new school record time of 47.93 seconds. Claudia Koontz (Concord, Mass. / Concord-Carlisle) led off, followed by Jones, Santee and Victoria Steffon (Holden, Mass. / Wachusett Regional). The quartet broke their own school record by nearly one second.
- Steffon finished third in the 100 meters with a new school record of 12.05 seconds, breaking her own school record by .14 seconds. She then finished as the runner-up in the 200 meters with a time of 24.84, just 0.6 away from the school record.
- Senior Sarah Miller (Hanover, Mass. / Hanover) placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.45 meters. Junior Madison Soullier (Cumberland, R.I. / Cumberland) took sixth in the finals of the 400 meters hurdles, finishing in 1:06.38 seconds.
- In the 400, Claudia Koontz (Concord, Mass. / Concord-Carlisle) took sixth in 57.67 while Madeleine Iassogna (Marietta, Ga. / Blessed Trinity Catholic) placed eighth with her time of 59.02 seconds.
- Assumption's 4x400 relay placed third overall with a time of 3:58.07. Koontz led off, followed by Elena DelloRusso (Milford, Mass. / Milford), Maura Geoghegan (Foxborough, Mass. / Foxborough) and Iassogna. In the 4x800, the Hounds took fourth in 9:35.51 behind the group of Alicia Polak (Lowell, Mass. / Lowell), Liz Letizio (Westerly, R.I. / Westerly), Sydney McCann (South Dennis, Mass. / Dennis-Yarmouth) and Meghan Slinskey (Fishkill, N.Y. / Our Lady of Lourdes).
INSIDE THE RESULTS:
- Assumption led after the first day but Stonehill surpassed them midway through Saturday and held on for the victory with 185 total points. The Hounds were close behind with a school-record 169 points, followed by Southern Connecticut with just 83 in third. Adelphi (73) and SNHU (64) rounded out the top five.
- Casella was selected as the NE10 Most Outstanding Field Performer after winning an NE10 crown in the discus while taking second in the shot put and javelin. She also earned a fifth place finish in the hammer throw.
- Senior Sara Amato (North Attleboro, Mass. / Bishop Feehan) won the NE10 Elite 24 award for earning the highest GPA of any student-athlete competing over the course of the weekend at the Championships.
