-The Lead: The Assumption College women's tennis team dominated in a Northeast-10 Conference contest with the Falcons of Bentley University on Sunday afternoon. The Hounds shut out the Falcons 7-0 and improve to 4-5 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Junior Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) and senior Maria Monje (Worcester, Mass. / Holy Name) outlasted Alessaa Matuty and Zoe Chin at No. 1 doubles, 6-3. Senior Camille Latoni (San Juan P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) paired up with junior Valeria Sanchez (Carolina, P.R. / Colegia La Piedad) at No. 2 doubles and shut out Cindy Luo and Anna Higgins, 6-0. Sophomore Ana Escudero (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) and junor Veronica Op (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy) finished out the doubles sweep with a 6-1, dominating victory over Miruna Constantin and Grace Bennett.
-Chappell met up with Matuty again at No. 1 singles and took the victory in two sets, 6-3 and 6-0. Monje competed with Chin again at No. 2 singles and finished with the 6-2, 6-3 victory.
-First year Aimee Figgins (Milford, Mass. / Hopedale Jr./Sr. High School) dominated at No. 3 singles taking set victories of 6-1 and 6-0 over Bennett.
-Latoni and Escudero did not allow their opponent to score a single point at No. 4 and No. 5 singles respectively. Op defeated Luo 6-1,6-1.

-Assumption travels to Merrimack College on Thursday, October 17th for an out of conference contest with the Warriors at 3:00 p.m.
