Latoni and Benoit named Women's Tennis Captains for 2018 Season

WORCESTER, Mass. - Assumption Women's Tennis Head Coach Megan Pirez is excited to announce that rising senior Paige Benoit (Holden, Mass. / St. Peter Marian Central Catholic) and junior Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) have been named captains for the 2018 season.

"Paige and Camille were selected as captains for exemplifying great leadership and team spirit," said Pirez. "They're both organized and dependable, and I feel strongly that they will serve the team well this season; setting a great example for the underclassmen."

Benoit finished last year with a 4-7 record at No. 3 singles while going 7-4 in doubles action. As a sophomore she earned first-team all-conference honors at No. 3 singles. Latoni, meanwhile went 10-1 in singles action this past year and then 9-3 in at No. 3 doubles to earn second-team all-conference honors in doubles.

The Hounds travel to Holy Cross to take on the Crusaders for their first match of the season on Saturday, Sept. 1.
