Worcester, Mass. (March 27) -- The Assumption College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 final
to Stonehill College at the Assumption College tennis courts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Greyhounds fall to 2-11 with the loss and 1-5 in Northeast-10 Conference play, while Stonehill improves to 15-2 overall and 8-0 in league play.
Assumption's number one doubles team of Erica Micciche (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham) and Cassy Waung (Bolton, Mass. / East Catholic) jumped out to a 2-0 lead to start their match, and held the score even at four before dropping an 8-4 final.
Junior Meg Hall (Pembroke, Mass. / Notre Dame) also battled in a 6-4, 6-0 loss at number four singles. The junior led for most of the first set before dropped a 6-4 final.
Assumption will return to action on April 2nd as the team will play host to American International College. The match will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Assumption College tennis courts in Worcester, Mass.
