Five Earn All-Conference Honors for Women's Soccer

WORCESTER, Mass. – Five Assumption women's soccer players have earned Northeast-10 All-Conference awards for the 2019-20 season, announced by the conference today. Alexis Stowell (Franklin, Mass. / Franklin) has earned Second-Team All-Conference Honors, while Diana Bruggeman (Natick, Mass. / Natick), Emily MacDonald (Ludlow, Mass. / The Williston Northampton School) and Emma Mailman (Rutland, Mass. / Wachusett Regional) have earned Third-team All-Conference Honors and Annie Irwin (Norwood, Mass. / Montrose School) All-Rookie Honors.

Stowell scored four goals and two assists in 13 games this season, playing a combination of defense and midfield throughout the season. She won Player of the Week Honors and Defensive Player of the Week Honors once each this season and went a span of three straight games scoring a goal, netting back-to-back game-winners during that span.

Bruggeman played a vital role in the team's offensive unit, scoring six goals and two assists. She led the team in goals (six), points (14) and shots (54). She tallied two goals and one assist against nationally-ranked Stonehill and also went a span of four games netting four goals and one assist.

MacDonald and Mailman carried a large part of the team's stellar defensive unit that produced six shutouts and allowed only 1.2 goals per game. MacDonald also produced one goal and one assist this season, while Mailman produced one assist and seven shots.

Irwin proved a nice addition to the team's offensive unit this season, scoring three goals and two assist with 50 shots. She began her season with assists in back-to-back games and followed that up with back-to-back goals against Southern Conn. St. and Pace. She then netted the game-winner in a 2-1 win over Saint Anselm on October 5.
