- The Lead: The Assumption Greyhounds scored two unanswered goals with the game-winner coming at the 58:59 mark in the second half to defeat the No. 7 Saint Rose Golden Knights, handing them their first loss on the year. It is the highest ranked team the Hounds have beaten in the program's history.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Alexis Stowell (Franklin, Mass. / Franklin) scored the game-winner at the 58:59 mark for her third goal on the year and first game-winner this season. Victoria Stowell (Franklin, Mass. / Franklin) set her up with a low driving corner kick. The kick went back-and-forth between players, with Morgan Paquin (Mapleville, R.I. / Lasalle Academy / Sacred Heart) getting it out to Alexis Stowell at the top of the box, unleashing a kick into the top of the net for a 2-1 lead.

-Stowell's goal was the second of two unanswered for the Hounds. After going down 1-0 to begin the game, Diana Bruggeman (Natick, Mass. / Natick) tied the game at one at the 34:52 mark, just 2:52 after the Golden Knights went up 1-0. Bruggeman initially went bar down on her first attempt, but got ahold of a loose ball from the defender, turned and put it home into the bottom right corner to tie the game at one.

-The Golden Knight's initially took a 1-0 lead at the 32:00 mark. Kaelynn Britt got the ball near the endline and put it home on a one-touch for the initial lead.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-Assumption held the Golden Knights to just 10 shots, holding a 12-10 advantage in total shots. They also outshot Saint Rose 7-3 in the second half, with Bruggeman and Alexis Stowell sharing a team-high three shots.

-Stowell's goal gives her two in her last two games and five points in her last three, netting two goals and one assist during that span. The two points she got from the goal also puts her in a three-way tie for most points on the team with eight.

-Alexis Nason (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) made one save and improved to 4-2-1 on the year. She is 3-0-0 in her last three games and has not allowed more than one goal in any of those contests. Marika Laurendeau made three saves for the Golden Knights but fell to 9-1-1 on the year.

-It is the highest ranked opponent the team has beaten in the program's history, not beating any opponent ranked higher than nine in the nation before their win against Saint Rose. The previous bar was set during the 2014-15 season when the Hounds defeated No. 9 Adelphi 3-2 in a double overtime game.
