-The Lead: Playing to a scoreless tie through regulation, the Assumption Greyhounds pressured throughout the first overtime period, which led to Jessica FitzGerald (Uxbridge, Mass. / Uxbridge) netting the game-winning goal to lift the Hounds past New Haven 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-After teammate Brooke Shatney (Weare, N.H. / John Stark Regional) turned a corner kick into a shot on net, FitGerald grabbed the rebound, and at the 97:14 mark, found the back of the net on a kick that went through a glut of New Haven players trying to block her attempt.

-The Hounds found the back of the net after pressuring the Chargers with seven shots on net in the overtime period. New Haven goalie Kyra Wolonsavich made three saves during the period, including a shot by Villemaire that would have gone in if Wolonsavich did not get a hand on the ball.

-Assumption goalkeeper Alexis Nason (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) made two saves throughout the contest, improved to 4-6-0 and earned her first shutout of the season. Wolonsavich made 15 saves for the Chargers but fell to 0-2-0 on the year.
