WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption women's rowing team competed against Coast Guard and Mount Holyoke on Saturday morning on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Hounds opened the day with their Varsity 8 facing off against Coast Guard and Mount Holyoke in a 2000 meter race. Assumption took second in the event with its time of 7:22.0, five seconds behind the Bears and head of the Lyons who finished in 7:27.5.
In the Varsity 4 race, the Hounds finished third and fourth, as both the Mount Holyoke A and B boats beat Assumption. The A boat was the faster of the two, crossing the finish in 8:32.1 and five seconds out of second.
"All the boats had some rough parts during the races today," said head coach Aline Seekins. "We will be focusing on cleaning up those parts this week in practice before the NE10 Invitational on our lake this coming Saturday."
