WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore MaryHope Gardner (Deep River, Conn./ Valley Regional High School) was named to the NERC All-Scholar Team, as announced by the New England Rowing Championship on Monday.
Selection to the NERC All-Scholar Team is awarded to the student athlete on each team with the highest cumulative GPA. Just a sophomore, Gardner helped contribute to a successful 2016-2017 season for the Assumption women's rowing team on the Varsity 8 boat. She and her teammates broke the school record in the Varsity 8 multiple times this season and placed first in a home race at Lake Quinsigamond against Johnson & Wales, Roger Williams, Mass Maritime, and Bryant.
