Sarah Reilly Named First-Team All-America

WORCESTER, Mass. - After leading Assumption to its best season in program history, Sarah Reilly (Fairfield-Warde/ Fairfield Conn.) has earned First-Team All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as announced on Tuesday.

Reilly led the Hounds to a 14-5 record, the best in program history, and led them to the NE10 Semifinals, the team's first trip in over ten years. The Hounds beat Bentley in the NE10 Quarterfinals 10-9 behind Reilly's three goals.  She led the NE-10 in goals, assists and points the majorly of the season while also making her mark in the draw category.

Reilly finished the 2019 season holding two major statistical school records with 99 points and 73 goals, while garnering 26 assists.  Additionally, she broke the single season record for draws in a season with 95.  She earned IWCLA All-Region First-Team honors while also earning NE10 First-Team All-Conference accolades. ​She competed for the North Senior All-Star team on June 1st at the Division II Senior All-Star Game.

Reilly concluded her decorated career by becoming the first Hound to earn First-Team All-America honors. She is also the first Hound in over a decade to earn All-America honors, the first since Jen Mongeau in 2005. She holds the school records for most points in a career (273) and assists with ​(82).  For her career, she also holds the 4th spot for draws in a career (160) and 2nd for goals (191).  

Reilly graduated in May with degree in marketing accumulating 3.77 GPA while also serving as the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President this past academic year.

"I am very proud of Sarah and it is fitting that Sarah finishes her career with this award", said Head Coach Abbey Capobianco-Simone. "Sarah is the epitome of what a coach would want in a student athlete; she will be remembered for her talent and record-breaking career, but more importantly she will be remembered for her character, passion and love for her team." said Capobianco - Simone. "She has left a lasting legacy at Assumption College and we are so lucky to have had her as a Greyhound".
