Hounds Ranked 17th in final IWLCA Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. - Following Assumption's first trip to the NE10 Semifinals in over ten years, the team was voted 17th in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hounds finished with 205 points overall and were one of seven teams from the conference who finished the year ranked. National Champion Adelphi took the top spot, followed by Le Moyne (4), Merrimack (15), New Haven (18), Bentley (19), and Pace (21).

This year Assumption went 14-5 overall, the best in program history, surpassing the previous mark of 10-8 set back in 2015. The team's season came to an end in the NE10 Semifinals against Le Moyne, falling by a 14-6 margin. Following the season, senior Sarah Reilly (Fairfield, Conn. / Fairfield-Warde) earned First-Team All-Region on attack. Emily Spath (Franklin, Mass. / Franklin), and Meghan Cushing (Gorham, Maine / Gorham) earned Second-Team All-Region honors from the IWLCA on attack and defense respectively.
