WORCESTER, Mass. – Following the most successful regular season in program history, women's lacrosse had a school-record five players earn Northeast 10 All-Conference recognition, highlighted by Sarah Reilly (Fairfield, Conn.) earning the program's first First-Team selection in over ten years.
Reilly was named to the first team, while Meghan Cushing (Gorham, Maine) and Emily Spath (Franklin, Mass.) both earned second-team nods. Grace McDermott (Franklin, Mass.) was a third-team selection and freshman Allie Collins (Natick, Mass.) was honored on the All-Rookie Team. The quintet has helped Assumption to a school-record 14-4 mark this season and their first NE10 Semifinals appearance since 2005.
Reilly has been dominant for the Hounds this season, leading the team with 95 points and 69 goals, both of which rank second in the NE10. She has also dished off 26 assists and picked up a school-record 94 draw controls. The 95 points is a single-season school record, as are the 69 goals. Reilly has at least four points in 14 games this year, including each of the last five. Last year she was a second-team selection at attack.
Cushing earned her first All-Conference nod after an All-Rookie selection back in 2015. The graduate student is one of the anchors of the defense, starting all 18 games and totaling 21 caused turnovers with 39 draw controls and 41 ground balls. She has also scored 12 goals with eight assists for 20 points. Cushing came through with the game-winning goal in the team's 13-12 victory over No. 9 Mercy back in March.
Spath burst onto the scene as a junior to earn her first all-conference selection. She has 59 assists to rank fourth in the nation and second in the NE10, while scoring 28 goals for 87 points. Spath has also picked up 28 ground balls while recording 14 caused turnovers. She owns the single-season assists record and set the single-game assist record earlier this year with seven in a win over Molloy. She matched that total later this year in a win over AIC.
McDermott has been one of the top defenders for the Hounds this year after being selected to the All-Rookie Team as a freshman. She has started all 18 games on defense and picked up 37 ground balls with a school-record 41 caused turnovers this year. She had a school-record seven caused turnovers in a 20-8 win over Saint Michael's earlier this year. Her 64 career caused turnovers already rank second in program history.
Collins has started each of the past of the 16 games in net and owns a 13-4 record this season. In 983 minutes, she has posted an 11.53 GAA with 152 saves and a 44.6 save percentage. She has seven games with at least ten saves, including a career-high 16 in the team's NE10 Quarterfinal victory over Bentley.
Le Moyne's Bryanna Fazio was named the Attacker of the Year, while teammate Olivia McEntee earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Mackenzie Reh of New Haven was honored as Midfielder of the Year and Bentley's Eliza Bresler earned Goalkeeper of the Year. Kayla Conway of Pace was named the Rookie of the Year.
