WORCESTER, Mass. – Following a dominant win over nationally ranked New Haven last weekend, women's lacrosse is currently ranked 17th most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll and the the latest Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine Poll.

Assumption moved up three spots from 20 in the IWLCA Poll and with 212 points is just one spot and eight points behind Pace (220 points). Le Moyne remains the top ranked team in the nation, accumulating all 25 first place votes. Adelphi dropped to third after a loss last week, while Pace (16), Merrimack (18), Bentley (19) and New Haven (19) are all in the top 20. Stonehill is currently receiving votes. In the Nike/US Lacrosse Poll, the Hounds remained at 17th. Le Moyne was first, followed by Adelphi (5), Bentley (16) and New Haven (20).

In the team's only game last week, they fell behind 3-0 to a tough Chargers squad. However, Assumption responded with the next eight goals and never let its lead fall below four again on the way to a 16-10 victory. Kailyn Hart (Cohoes, N.Y. / Shaker) scored five goals while Emily Spath (Franklin, Mass. / Franklin) had eight points on two goals and six assists as they earned the first win over New Haven in program history.

The Hounds look for an upset tomorrow when they square off against Le Moyne at 4 p.m. in Multi-Sport Stadium.
