THE BASICS:

- The Lead: Assumption trailed just 6-5 midway through the second half, but 14th ranked Pace scored the final seven goals of regulation to come away with a 13-5 victory in conference play on Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pace opened up the scoring at 26:28, but Jenny Bush (Kennebunk, Maine / Kennebunk) answered with a goal off a pass from Sarah Reilly (Fairfield, Conn. / Fairfield-Warde) just over one minute later. The Setters took back the lead, but Reilly evened it up with 19:51 left in the half. The Hounds were unable to score again in the half, while Pace added two more goals to grab a 4-2 advantage at the break.
- Casey Gelderman scored consecutive goals to start the second for a 6-2 lead, however, Assumption countered. Reilly cut the deficit to three off a feed from Caitlin Graves (Ashland, Mass. / Ashland) and Reilly added a second at 21:45. Amanda Burns (Billerica, Mass. / Billerica Memorial) trimmed it to just 6-5, scoring with 18:34 left on a pass by Meghan Cushing (Gorham, Maine / Gorham).
- Pace responded with two goals over the next eight minutes while forcing a number of Assumption turnovers over the next eight minutes. The Setters added five more in the final eight minutes while shutting out the Hounds for a 13-5 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Pace held a 35-25 shot advantage in the contest, with just 14 of Assumption's shots on net. The Setters picked up seven more ground balls (15-8) while each team won ten draws.
- Reilly had a hand in nearly every goal, finishing with four points on three goals and one assist. Bush added a single goals and six draw controls.
- Sophomore Kyra Goucher (Derry, N.H. / Pinkerton Academy) made eight saves while allowing 13 goals, as well as having two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Gabrielle Morris (Londonderry, N.H. / Londonderry) chipped in two ground balls and one caused turnover.
- Jillian Oross earned the win as she made nine saves and gave up five goals. Gelderman had five goals and two assists to lead Pace, while Stephanie Chadnick added two goals and two assists.
