Women's Golf Places Fourth at Penmen Fall Invitational

-The Lead: The Assumption College women's golf team placed fourth overall out of seven teams competing in the Penmen Fall Invitational hosted by Southern New Hampshire University over the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Senior Catherine French (Dudley, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) finished the weekend in a three-way tie for fifth place out of 44 players. She shot a 78 in round one and a 79 in round two for a score of 157. Stonehill's Emily Kase and Abby Jay also shot a 157. Senior Christine Cutting (Scituate, Mass. / Scituate) finished in 17th place overall shooting an 87 in round one and dropping eight strokes in round two, shooting a 79 for a score of 166. Junior Samantha Leary (Hingham, Mass. / Hingham) rouded out the top three performers for Assumption shooting a 171 over the two rounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-Franklin Pierce University placed first overall with an overall score of 628. Jinnapat Rittawee took fist place overall at the invitational, shooting a 147. Stonehill finished in second place overall (632) followed by Southern New Hampshire University (643). Assumption took fourth place (669) and St. Rose (680), Adelphi (769) and Dominican (801) fell into 5th, 6th, and 7th places respectively.
