- The Lead: Assumption shot a 361, one stroke ahead of Saint Rose to place first after the opening round of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship on Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Catherine French (Dudley, Mass. / Shepherd Hill) is tied for second after the opening day with an 86. Classmate Christine Cutting (Scituate, Mass. / Scituate) was second for the Hounds with an 89 to sit in fifth.
- Freshman Carly Romano (Wake Forest, N.C. / Heritage) took ninth with a 92 while Samantha Leary (Hingham, Mass. / Hingham) shot a 94. Mia Rapoza (Westport, Mass. / Bishop Stang) rounded out the group with a 96.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Assumption shot a 361, one stroke ahead of Saint Rose who shot a 362. LIU Post was third with a 381.
