- The Lead: The Assumption women's golf team is in third place following the first day of competition at the Franklin Pierce Invitational after shooting a 339 overall on Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore Catherine French (Dudley, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) finished fifth overall on the team and first for the Hounds after shooting a 79. Classmate Christine Cutting (Scituate, Mass. / Scituate) and freshman Samantha Leary (Hingham, Mass. / Hingham) tied for second on the team and 17th overall by shooting an 86.
- Junior Mia Rapoza (Westport, Mass. / Bishop Stang) is tied for 20th overall with her 88, while Casey Gurlitz (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) was fifth on the team with 116.
