Women's Golf in Ninth After First Day In Le Moyne Invitational

THE BASICS:

- Course Stats: Par 72, 6275 yards

-The Lead: After the first day in the Le Moyne Fall Invitational sophomore Catherine French (Dudley, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) finished first for the Hounds and tied for 15th overall, while the team placed ninth overall after shooting a 346 (+58).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- French shot a 81 (+9 ) to tie for 15th in the first day, while classmates Christine Cutting (Scituate, Mass. / Scituate)  and Mia Rapoza (Westport, Mass. / Bishop Stang) tallied a score of 85 to tie them for 32nd overall and second for Assumption. 

- Senior Alyssa Ruggieri (Cranston, R.I., /Cranston West) is currently in 57th place shooting a 95 while junior Casey Gurlitz (Auburn, Mass./Auburn) ended the day in 64th shooting a 108.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Franklin Pierce (306), Kutztown (308), Gannon (314), Merrimack (319), and Le Moyne (325) placed in the top five respectively. Behind Le Moyne by one stroke was West Chester who shot a 326. Mercyhurst and East Stroudsburg finished 7th and 8th just before the Hounds, while Post (347), Saint Rose (353), and Adelphi (366)  concluded the standings.

- The Hounds are back in action tomorrow as they compete in the second day of the Le Moyne Fall Invitational.
