Women’s Golf Opens Season at Franklin Pierce Invitational

THE BASICS

- Score: Assumption 5th out of five teams

-Location: Keene, N.H. – Brentwood Golf Course

- The Lead: Freshman Catherine French (Dudley, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) placed second overall in her first collegiate event with a 75, but the team finished fifth out of five teams on Sunday afternoon at Bretwood Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- French had an eagle on the opening hole and didn't look back on her way to a 3-over 75, which was good for second overall.

- Christine Cutting (Scituate, Mass. / Scituate) was second among the Hounds with an 83 and placed ninth overall on day.

- Mia Rapoza (Westport, Mass. / Bishop Stang), Casey Gurlitz (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) and Hannah Hubacz (Oakham, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) provided the final three scores of the afternoon for Assumption, shooting 93, 102 and 115 respectively.

- Host Franklin Pierce won the event with a 319 while Aldephi was second with a 336. Assumption took fifth out of five teams with its 353
