-The Lead: The Assumption College women's golf team faced off against Franklin Pierce in Keene, N.H. on Thursday in a dual-match tune-up prior to this weekend's Franklin Pierce Shootout at Bretwood Golf Course. The Hounds finished with a single-round, 18-hole score of 426 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Senior Emily Gonsalves (Greenville, R.I. / Smithfield) led the Hounds with her final score of 94 strokes and was joined under 100 by senior Ally Fillebrown (Ayer, Mass. / Ayer Shirley Regional) who carded a 99.
-Freshman Casey Gurlitz (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) was the third finisher for Assumption, registering a score of 113, while senior Jacey Copes (Attleboro, Mass. / Attleboro) rounded out the Greyhound squad with her score of 120.
-Franklin Pierce's Camden Morrison finished atop the field with her score of 71.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS:
-Prior to Thursday's match-up, Gonsalves remained the only Hound through four rounds this season to finish under 100 strokes. She was joined by Fillebrown following the single round against the Ravens.
-Not only did Fillebrown register her lowest score of the season, she also notched a birdie on the par-5, 10th hole of Bretwood Golf Course.
