NE10 Coaches' Poll Release

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption men's track and field program was picked fourth in the Northeast 10 Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference ahead of this weekend's NE10 Championships, May 3-4.

This marks the first time in program history the Hounds have been picked fourth, as they search for their first top-four finish ever at the NE10 Track & Field Championships. Defending champion Southern Connecticut was selected first with 99 points and nine first place votes. AIC earned the second spot with the other first place vote and 83 points. Stonehill was third with 77 points while Assumption was fourth with 73. Merrimack rounded out the top five with 72 points.

The Hounds' best finish at the NE10 Outdoor Championships is sixth, which the team has accomplished each of the past two years. In 2018 they scored a school-record 66.5 points and had a pair of individual second place finishes.

This year, Assumption looks to make a statement in a number of field events. In the decathlon, Kevin Hack (Uxbridge, Mass.) and Cameron Donoghue (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) are seeded first and second in the event by over 200 points. Kristopher Selanis (Athol, Mass.) leads three Hounds seeded in the top five of the shot put, along with William Bennett (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Dillon Bruso (Auburn, Mass.). John Plisko (Moosic, Pa.), meanwhile, is seeded third in the javelin following his throw of 58.12 meters earlier this year.

Hack is also seeded second in the high jump, while Andrew Lamb (Marshfield, Mass.) enters the 10,000 meters with the third best time. Max Michaud (Northborough, Mass.), meanwhile, is seeded third in the 800 meter run and Everett Pirtle (Northborough, Mass.) is fourth in the 400 meters.
