WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption College men's track & field team was selected fifth in the NE10 Conference Pre-Championship Coaches Poll, as voted on by the leagues head coaches and announced by the NE10 on Thursday.

The Hounds will look to match last year's fifth place finish, which was the best in program history. Assumption was picked four points ahead of Franklin Peirce and behind Merrimack by 12 points. Defending NE10 Champion, Southern Connecticut, looks for back-to-back championships and sits atop the poll with 99 points and nine first place votes. ending NE10 Champion, Stonehill, looks to continue its dominance in hopes for another NE10 Championship. Stonehill is atop the coaches' poll with 121 points and 11 first place votes. To view the complete release, click here.

The Hounds are a relevantly young team with just five seniors and will rely on their youth and depth to earn points over the weekend. So far this season, eight school records have been broken, led by sophomore Everett Pirtle (Northborough, Mass. / Algonquin) with two records, in the 300m & 400m. Sophomore Joseph Santos (Warwick, R.I. / Bishop Hendricken) has broken two records (55m hurdles, 60m hurdles), while junior Max Michaud (Northboro, Mass. / Algonquin) (800m) and sophomore Cameron Donoghue (Yarmouth Port, Mass. / Barnstable) (hep) all have individual records. The quartet of juniors Michaud, William Mardo (Cumberland, R.I. / Cumberland), Daniel DeLuca (Riverside, R.I / East Providence), and freshman Nik Reygadas (Warwick, R.I. / Toll Gate) set school records in both the 4x800 and Distance Medley Relays this year.

This year's indoor championship will be hosted at the Smith College Track and Tennis Center with live results available throughout both days, along with a live stream that can be found on the NE10 Track Championships Page.
