Men's Track & Field Compete at Husky invitational

THE BASICS:

- Event: Husky Invitational

- Location: Reggie Lewis Center (Roxbury, Mass.)

- The Lead: Assumption concluded the fall semester with a number of strong performances and one school record at the Husky Invitational on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Junior Daniel DeLuca (Riverside, R.I / East Providence) took fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.73 while classmate Ryan Gill (East Granby, Conn. / East Catholic) was one place behind him in 2:05.20. William Mardo (Cumberland, R.I. / Cumberland), meanwhile, came in 12th in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:13.76.

- Sophomore Joseph Santos (Warwick, R.I. / Bishop Hendricken) placed sixth in the 60 meter hurdles and broke his own school record by .14 seconds with a time of 8.47 seconds. Senior Scott MacDuffie (Grafton, Mass. / Grafton) placed 22nd in the 60 meters.

- The team returns to action on January 11, when they compete at the Spartan Invitational on Staten Island.
