THE BASICS:

- The Lead: Sophomore Kevin Hack (Uxbridge, Mass. / Nipmuc Regional) shattered his own school record and now owns the top result in the country in the high jump after registering a standout performance at the Elm City Challenge today.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hack joined freshmen Cameron Donoghue (Yarmouth Port, Mass. / Barnstable) and Derek Girouard (Chicopee, Mass. / Chicopee) as they competed in the heptathlon during day one of the meet.
- Hack led the way, finishing first in the high jump while clearing a height of 6 feet, 11-inches, a NCAA Provisional mark. The height almost guarantees Hack will qualify for the NCAA meet in March, making him the first indoor male qualifier in Assumption's history.
- Donogue recorded a solid debut for the Hounds, placing seventh in the 55 meter dash (6.97 seconds), fifth in the high jump (5 feet, 11.25-inches), fourth in the long jump (20 feet, 11.75-inches) and fourth in the shot put (34 feet, 8.25-inches).
- Girouard raced his way to a sixth place finish in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.96 seconds, while also placing sixth in the high jump, clearing a height of 5 feet, 10-inches. In the long jump, Girouard finished eight with a distance of 19 feet, 9.75-inches and in the shot put he recorded a distance of 33 feet, .25-inches.
