Swimming Receives Scholar All-America Honor for 17th Straight Semester

Norfolk, Va. (January 28) -- The Assumption College swimming team has been distinguished as one of just five teams in the Northeast-10 Conference to earn the Scholar All-America designation for their performance in the classroom during the Fall 2015 semester, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced. The honor marks the 17th straight semester that the Hounds have been named to the list.

The Hounds earn the prestigious honor after claiming their second straight NE-10 Championship in 2014. Assumption is set to compete next week as they attempt to defend their title and three-peat as the league champions.

Five hundred and forty-seven swimming and diving teams representing 354 colleges and universities earned the award. The honor is in recognition of teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2015 fall semester.

The Hounds posted an impressive 3.15 GPA last semester to be named to the list. Additional squads in the conference to earn the honor include Bentley, Pace, Saint Michael's and Saint Rose.

Assumption looks to continue its success both in and out of the classroom this spring. The Hounds will host the 2016 NE-10 Championships at WPI in Worcester, Mass. on Thursday, Feb. 4 through Sunday, Feb. 7.
