- The Lead: Assumption won the doubles point and took two singles matches with two more victories by forfeit as the Hounds took down Saint Anselm for their second straight win, 5-2, on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore Max Francis (West Barnstable, Mass. / Barnstable) and Reb Mariano (New London, Conn. / Saint Andrew's) came through with a 6-1 win at No. 1 while Brandon Sze (South Windsor, Conn. / South Windsor) and Jameson Keppeler (Syracuse, N.Y. / CBA Syracuse secured a matching 6-1 victory at No. 2. The Hounds won No. 3 due to forfeit.
- Francis made quick work of his singles opponent at No. 1, with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Sze also earned a win at No. 3 as he dropped the first set 6-3 but battled back to win the second 6-1 and take the third 10-7. Assumption's other two victories came due to forfeit at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
