- Records: Assumption (9-6-0, 7-4-0 NE10), Bentley (8-7-0, 6-5-0 NE10)

- The Lead: The Assumption Greyhounds scored two unanswered goals in the second half, including the game-winner at the 76:36 mark to take down the Bentley Falcons 2-1 on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Down 1-0 at halftime, the Hounds scored back-to-back goals just 15:46 apart. Jason Lages (Edgartown, Mass. / Martha's Vineyard Regional) netted the game-tying goal at the 60:50 mark on a through-ball into the box, finishing a nice kick to tie the game. Jeremy Martin (Hopedale, Mass. / Hopedale) then netted the game-winner just 15:46 later, at the 76:36 mark. He took a shot from the corner and played a Bentley-deflection into the back of the net to rally his team to two second-half, unanswered goals.

-The Falcons pressured in the late minutes, but could not get by the Assumption defense. They played a corner into the offensive zone within the final five minutes of the game and possessed the ball long enough to take two shots on goal, but one went blocked and the other high to preserve the Hounds' lead.

-Bentley had held the lead going into halftime. Alec Foster scored at the 24:59 mark. He played a crossed ball by teammate Harrison Bourgeois from about 20-yards out and was able to get one on net to give his team an initial 1-0 lead.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-The Hounds outshot Bentley 16-13 and 12-7 in the second-half. Bentley held the advantage in corner kicks, out producing Assumption 8-6.

-Martin's game-winner is the first of his collegiate career and third on the season. He has now scored in back-to-back games and has added at least one point in three of his last four games and four out of his last six.

-Lages' goal gives him eight on the season and 31 throughout his career. He is three away from moving into second place all-time in goals scored.

-Sebastian Jimenez (Naples, Fla. / Gulf Coast High School) made six saves and improved to 9-6-0 on the year. Nick Malderella also made six saves for the Falcons, but fell to 8-7-0 on the year.

-The win moves Assumption into sole possession of third place within the NE10 standings. The top four teams will earn a NE10 Conference playoff home game.
