- The Lead: The Assumption Greyhounds used three different players and one own goal to propel themselves past the visiting Caldwell Cougars 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in the team's first home game of the 2019 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-The Hounds generated offensive output early and often, leading 3-1 by halftime. Jason Lages (Edgartown, Mass. / Martha's Vineyard Regional) scored first at the 19:51 mark on a pass from teammate Nicolas Cardona (San Juan, P.R. / Academia del Perpetuo Socorro / DePaul) that went almost half the length of the field. On one bounce, Lages sent the ball into the top right corner of the net for the 1-0 lead.

-Less than 10 minutes later, Caldwell scored on its own goal coming off of a corner. They redeemed themselves when Jeongmin Ahn scored in front of an open net, but Assumption went back up by two, 3-1, at the 34:18 mark when Connor Willis (North Andover, Mass. / North Andover) hit a one-timer off of a deflection into the back of the net.

-Caldwell pulled within one again at the 54:32 mark and again on a goal by Ahn. Ahn sent a high ball over the leaping attempt by Assumption goalie Sebastian Jimenez (Naples, Fla. / Gulf Coast High School) into the back of the net. However, Assumption went back up by two at the 74:54 mark while coming off of a corner. After Alex Moschella (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place) sent the ball into play and after a couple back-and-forth touches, Jeremy Martin (Hopedale, Mass. / Hopedale) gained possession at dead center and launched a kick into the back of the net for the final score of 4-2.
