THE BASICS:

-The Lead: A little more than five minutes after the Southern Conn. St. tied the game, freshman Connor Willis (North Andover, Mass. / North Andover) scored the game-winning goal for the Assumption Greyhounds, putting his team past the Owls 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Exactly five minutes and 21 seconds after the Owls tied the game at one in the second-half, Willis put the Hounds up for good when he redirected Alex Moschella's (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place) corner kick into the back of the net to put the Hounds up 2-1.
-Nicolas Ruiz Colodrero tied the game at one on a similar play. Ignasi Perez Cererois sent a header into the middle of the field in which Ruiz Colodrero headed the ball into the back of the net to tie the game at one.
-Chase Gurcan (Fort Salonga, N.Y. / St. Anthony's) put the Hounds up, 1-0, at the 21:47 mark when he redirected a ball sent in the air by Jason Lages (Edgartown, Mass. / Martha's Vineyard), in which Gurcan got his head on it and redirected the ball into the net.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
-Assumption held a 17-12 shot advantage. However, the Owls held a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks, including a 7-1 edge in the second-half.
-Willis had netted three goals so far this season, which includes two game-winning kicks. He scored the game-winner in the team's 1-0 win against Post in the team's season opener.
-Lages has now had at least one goal or one assist in the last three games, netting three goals and one assist during that time.
-Sebastian Jimenez (Naples, Fla. / Gulf Coast High School) made four saves for the Hounds and improved to 6-2-1 on the year. Jake Davis made seven saves for the Owls but fell to 3-3-0 on the year.
