- The Lead: Freshman Connor Willis (North Andover, Mass. / North Andover) came through with the lone goal of the contest in the 29th minute as Assumption took down Post University 1-0 on Thursday evening to give first-year head coach Chris Payne his first victory at Assumption.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wilis broke the scoreless tie for the Hounds in the 29th minute. The freshman received the ball and cut towards the middle of the field, firing a shot past the goalie. Ruben Faria (Fall River, Mass. / Bishop Connolly) was credited with an assist on the play.
- Neither team was able to score the rest of the evening as Assumption held off the Eagles in the final minutes to preserve the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Post actually outshot Assumption 13-6 in the contest. Sebastian Jimenez (Naples, Fla. / Gulf Coast High School) earned the win in his first career start by making ten saves for the Hounds.
