Hounds Come Up Short at Saint Anselm in 2-0 Final

Manchester, N.H. (October 11) -- On Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action, the Assumption men's soccer team fell by a 2-0 final to Saint Anselm at Melucci Field. With the loss, the Greyhounds fall to 2-6-1 overall and 2-5-1 in Northeast-10 play, while the Hawks now stand at 5-6-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the league.

After a scoreless first half, the Hawks struck with 22:22 remaining in the game as senior Keesen Howe (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) played a ball from the corner and along the end line to Alex Germaine (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy), who knocked it in for his first goal of the season.

With just 1:33 left in regulation, the Hawks made it a 2-0 final at Howe scored off a rebound from a shot by Max Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional).

Sophomore Matt Wrenn (Windham, N.H./Tilton School) turned aside three shots in the loss, while junior Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H./Moultonborough Academy) had three saves in the victory.

Assumption is back in action on Saturday, October 15th as the Hounds play host to Merrimack at 3 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
