Springfield, Mass. (October 1) – The Assumption men's soccer team tied American International, 1-1, after double overtime on Saturday.
American International struck first with a goal by Thomas Denomme in the 37th minute. Conor Doyle assisted the goal.
After entering halftime down 1-0, the Hounds answered back with a goal of their own when Dom Mondi (Peabody, Mass./Peabody) found the back of the net in the 60th minute to tie the score. However, the next 50 minutes remained scoreless, giving the game a final score of 1-1.
Freshman Dylan Strachan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) made nine saves and allowed just the one goal in 110 minutes of play.
The Hounds move to 2-4-1 on the season and 2-3-1 in the Northeast-10.
