Syracuse, N.Y. (September 21) -- The Assumption men's soccer team fell to Le Moyne, 2-1, on Saturday. The Hounds out shot Le Moyne, 12-11, and put more shots on goal, 5-3.
The Dolphins jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first minute of play on a goal by Zachary McNabb, who scored on a header off a cross by Emmanuel Chanelo.
Le Moyne extended that lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute on a goal by Casey Murphy.
The Hounds cut into the lead when Tom Carroll (Belford, N.J./Middletown North) stole a pass in the box and beat the keeper on a shot to the lower left corner of the goal.
The Hounds move to 2-2 with the loss and 2-1 in the Northeast-10.
Assumption takes the field next when it hosts Bentley on September 24th. The game will start at noon in Worcester, Mass.
