HOW IT HAPPENED:

-The Hounds played ahead from the beginning of the game and never looked back. John Fine-Lease (Willsboro, N.Y. / Walpole Express (EHL)) scored on a rebound shot to put his team up 1-0 at the 5:39 mark of the first. Elliott McGuire (Reading, Mass. / Truro Bearcats (MJAHL)) put his team up 2-0 by the end of the first and Matt Drake (Whiting, N.J. / Islanders Hockey Club (USPHL Elite)), who usually plays on the defensive unit but started at left wing for the game, put the Hounds up 3-0 on a power play goal that seemingly went off a skate and into the back of the net at 3:18 of the second period.

-The only blemish on the night for the Hounds came at the 12:25 mark of the second when Post's Tyler Hackett scored on the power play to bring the game back within two, 3-1. Colin Philippon (Salem, N.H. / Vermont Lumberjacks (EHL)) stretched the Hounds lead to 4-1 on another rebound shot at 14:07 of the third period.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-Assumption outshot the Eagles 31-27. Post went 1-for-7 while on the power play and Assumption went 1-for-6.

-Fine-Lease led the team with one goal and one assist while John McDonagh (Latrobe, Pa. / Shady Side Academy (Prep)) had two assists. Michael Zampanti (Winthrop, Mass. / Islanders Hockey Club (USPHL Premier)) had one assist, which moved his point streak to six games, tallying 10 points (four goals, six assists) during that span.

-David Altman (Bristol, R.I. / Northern Cyclones (EHL)) made 26 saves on 27 shots to improve to 6-2-0 on the year. Brandon Brown made 27 saves on 31 shots after making 34 saves last night against the Hounds, but fell to 3-8-1 on the year.
