-The Lead: Assumption's five-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday night, but the team's undefeated streak continued, playing to a 4-4 tie in an even battle with the Stonehill Skyhawks at Buffone Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-The Hounds climbed their way back into the thick of things twice during Saturday's game. Down 2-0 and then 3-1, the Hounds fought back to tie the game at the 15:41 mark of the second period. Robert Holyoke (Middleboro, Mass. / South Shore Kings (USPHL Premier)) scored first at the 15:26 mark as part of a succession of shots for Assumption. Just 15 seconds later, after assisting Holyoke's goal, teammate Michael Zampanti (Winthrop, Mass. / Islanders Hockey Club (USPHL Premier)) found the back of the net himself to tie the game at three.

-Stonehill's Cameron Wright found the back of a wide open right side of the net after breaking across the crease to put his team up 4-3 by the end of the third. The lead didn't last long though. Colin Montgomery (Natick, Mass. / Valley Junior Warriors (EHL)) rocketed a shot past Stonehill goalie Matthew Schoen, tying the game at four while on the power play.

-Assumption then fought hard to get the win in overtime, placing four shots on net, including one that forced a diving save, and held the Skyhawks to only two shots. Unfortunately, the Hounds did not find the back of the net, leading both teams to the tie.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-Assumption outshot the Skyhawks 48-27. The Hounds went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Stonehill went 1-for-5. John Pigott (Arlington, Mass. / Tilton School (Prep)) led the team with seven shots.

-Zampanti led the team with three points (one goal and two assists) and moved his season total to 15 points (10 goals and five assists). Saturday marked his fifth multi-point game this season and second in as many games. Zampanti tallied two goals in his previous game against Franklin Pierce.

-Freshman Colin Philippon (Salem, N.H. / Philadelphia Flyers (USPHL Premier)) and Sean O'Connell (Stoneham, Mass. / Phillips Academy (Prep)) also continued their hot hands on Saturday night as Philippon netted one goal and O'Connell two assists. Philippon has one point in four of his last five games and O'Connell has five in that same span.

-Drew Benedict (Cooper City, Fla. / Charlotte Rush (USPHL)) made 23 saves on 27 shots for the Hounds and moved to 1-0-2 on the year. Schoen made 44 saves on 48 shots and moved to 5-7-2.
