Hockey To Unveil Championship Banner January 12th

WORCESTER, Mass. - On Friday, January 12, the Assumption College ice hockey team will open 2018 with a ceremonial banner raising for the programs first NE10 Championship at the Buffone Arena against Saint Michael's at 5:35 pm.

"The Assumption Hockey team and the Class of '17 alumni players are extremely excited for January 12 at the Buffone Arena as we unveil the 2016-2017 NE10 Ice Hockey Championship banner," said Head Coach Lance Brady."This will be the first NE10 Ice Hockey Championship banner in the history of Assumption Hockey. The entire program is very proud of the accomplishment and we hope to see a great crowd to support the team as we have a rematch of the championship game facing off against St. Michael's that evening.  Hope to see you there."

Last season the Hounds entered the NE10 Tournament as the fourth seed and upset the No. 2 seed Saint Anselm in the semifinal game to reach the Championship game against the No. 1 seed Saint Michael's. Assumption was down 2-0 after the first period, but came back to defeat the Purple Knights 3-2 in overtime to claim the first NE10 Championship in the history of the program. 

This season the Hounds are currently 6-5-2 overall and 2-2-1 in NE10 conference play. They picked up two conference wins over Saint Michael's and Saint Anselm and are currently unbeaten in their last five games.
