Men's Golf Places Fourth at Saint Rose Fall Shootout

THE BASICS

-The Lead: The Assumption College men's golf team placed fourth at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout over the weekend. The Hounds competed with nine other teams, including five Northeast-10 Conference opponents.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Junior Andrew Sanzaro (Wetherfield, Conn. / Wethersfield) shot 72's in both rounds to place third overall with a score of 144. Jonathan Petrin from Le Moyne and Tommy Ethier from Bentley placed just above Sanzaro as they tied for first place with scores of 140.

-First year Kevin Allard (Longmeadow, Mass. / Longmeadow) shot the lowest score of the day in round one with a 70 and shot a 76 in round two for a score of 146 and fifth place overall.

-Senior Mark Bryant (Hardwick, N.J. / North Warren Regional) rounded out the top three performers for Assumption as he finished in a five-way tie for ninth place. He shot a 73 in round one and a 76 in round two for a final score of 149.

-Le Moyne tooke first place with a team score of 587 while Franklin Pierce finished as the runner-up with a score of 592. Indiana University (Penn.) earned third place by just one stroke, shooting a 597 and Assumption finished in fourth with a 598. The College of Saint Rose (612) fell into fifth place, followed by Bentley University (617) in sixth, Chestnut Hill College (619) in seventh, and Robert Wesleyan College and St. Michael's College tied for eighth place.

-The Hounds compete at the Post Eagles Fall Invitational on Monday, October 14th and Tuesday, October 15th.
