- The Lead: Assumption sits in third place following the first day of competition at the Assumption Spring Invitational behind a strong performance from sophomore Andrew Sanzaro (Wethersfield, Conn. / Wethersfield).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sanzaro led the Hounds with a 75 to tie for second overall on the day. Senior James Elliott (Gill, Mass. / Pioneer Valley Regional), Mark Bryant (Hardwick, N.J. / North Warren Regional) and Lucas Roop (Gorham, Maine / Gorham) each hit an 82 which tied them for 20th overall.
- Junior Zach Magarian (Worcester, Mass. / West Boylston) tied for 30th with his 85 on the day. Competing as individuals, Blake Cox (Rehoboth, Mass. / Dighton Rehoboth) is tied for 13th after his 80, while Scott VanDenburg (Valatie, N.Y. / Ichabod Crane) and Ryan Fillebrown (Ayer, Mass. / Saint Bernard's) are both tied for 15th by shooting an 81.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Assumption shot 321 as a team, sitting behind Franklin Pierce who had a 302 and Post who finished with a 311. Chestnut is in fourth with a 328 and Saint Michael's is fifth with a 333.

- The Hounds return to action tomorrow in the second round of the Assumption Spring Invitational, with the first groups teeing off at 12:30 p.m.
