Assumption Ranked 8th In NFHCA Coaches Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption College Field Hockey was ranked eighth in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Division II National Coaches' Poll as released by the NFHCA earlier today.

The Hounds earned 71 total points for the program's fourth ranking of this season. West Chester moved up to first with 259 total points and 25 first place votes followed by Millersville in second with a total of 223 points and one first place vote. Saint Anselm leads NE10 teams in fourth with 160 points while Adelphi sits at seventh (76), Southern N.H. at ninth (65) and Stonehill in tenth (49).

Assumption has extended their win-streak to seven as of yesterday with their fifth shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over Lindenwood. This is the largest win-streak for the Hounds since 2015. Assumption is currently second in the NE10 with a 10-1 overall record and a 6-1 NE10 record. This week the Hounds had two athletes, Alexa Mulvihill (Westbrook, Conn./Westbrook) and Kylie Gargiulo (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) earn NE10 honors.
