WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption football Head Coach Andy McKenzie is excited to announce rising seniors Tighe Beck (Wakefield, Mass. / Wakefield Memorial), Doug Santos (Peabody, Mass. / Peabody Veterans Memorial) and Mason Spence (Boston, Mass. / Episcopal) as well as redshirt senior Quentin Hall (Plymouth, Mass. / Thayer Academy / Milford Academy) as captains for the 2019 season.

"The 2019 football captains, selected by a team vote, best represent the 'DIG IT' core values of our program," said McKenzie. "Our newly elected captains have consistently demonstrated the determination, intensity and grit necessary for our team to prepare at a championship level. They live by the integrity and trust that is so important to a championship-level team chemistry. Our program expects the captains, along with all the talented leaders we have, to continually push our program forward with an extra-ordinary work ethic and the mental toughness needed to achieve our goals."

Beck appeared in 10 games for the Hounds during the 2018 season and recorded 17 catches for 182 yards and four touchdowns as a wide receiver. Beck's best game came when he caught three touchdown passes for 46 yards in a 54-9 win over American International on September 29. Santos led the team with 98 carries for 492 yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He also had 18 catches for 108 yards and one receiving touchdown.

As a defensive back, Spence recorded 26 tackles and forced two fumbles and two interceptions in 10 games. He returned both interceptions for touchdowns, the first a 43-yarder in a 66-3 win over Saint Anselm on September 14 and his second a 66-yarder in a 52-21 win over Bentley on November 3. Hall is coming off a season where he earned Northeast-10 First-Team All-Conference Honors as part of the Hounds' offensive line. He helped pave way for an NE10 leading 415.9 yards per game from the Hounds as well as a conference-leading 51 touchdowns.
