Scott Simonson Signs With New York Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The New York Giants announced on Tuesday they have signed former Assumption College football standout Scott Simonson to a contract. Simson has played in the NFL since the 2014 season and this marks his third NFL team. 

Simonson spent the past three seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He missed the entire 2017 season due to a back injury, but appeared in 14 games during the 2015 & 2016 campaigns for the Panthers. He appeared in all three of Carolina's playoff games during the 2015 season as the team reached the Super Bowl. He made his first career start a year later against Denver on Sept. 8. Simonson entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Raiders in 2014 and played four games that season.

Simonson is a native of Red Bank, N.J. who played at Middletown High School. At Assumption College, he played in 36 games with 31 starts and had 104 receptions for 1,537 yards and 15 touchdowns.
