Hounds Remain Sixth in Latest NCBWA Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has ranked the Assumption Baseball team sixth in their latest poll released today, March 11.

The ranking comes after a 2-4 week for the Hounds to move to 8-4 on the year. The Hounds remain steadfast in their ranking as the team also ranked sixth in last week's poll released on March 4.

As a team, the Hounds are currently hitting .302 with a .433 on-base percentage. They average nine runs per game and have 42 extra base hits. The team also combines for a 4.78 ERA. Hunter Tralli (Berlin, Conn. / Northwest Catholic) leads the Hounds at the plate, batting to a slash line of .388/.492/.694 so far this season to go along with four home runs, 15 RBIs and 14 runs. Derek Adamson (Chelmsford, Mass. / Chelmsford) is not too far behind Tralli, hitting to a line of .370/.500/.478 with 15 runs, 13 RBIs and five doubles. Cole Chudoba (Oxford, Conn. / Oxford High School) is 3-0 in three starts for the Hounds and has 24 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched to go along with a 1.29 ERA. Manny PegueroMelo (Boston, Mass. / Xaverian) is 2-0 with one save in four relief appearances and has a 1.74 ERA.

Southern N.H. earned the top spot in the poll for the third straight week, earning all nine first place votes. Other teams within the Northeast-10 that earned a spot in the poll include New Haven (third), Franklin Pierce (five), Adelphi (ninth) and Stonehill (10th). To see the entire rankings, click here.

The Hounds travel to LIU Post, who is ranked seventh in the poll, for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 16, at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
