WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption College junior catcher Andrew Jaehnig (Quincy, Mass. / Boston College) became the 11th player in the programs history to be named All-American when the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) selected him to the Honorable Mention All-American Team.
WORCESTER, Mass. – The seventh annual Worcester Area Baseball All-Star teams have been announced today, as selected by the area’s athletic communication directors. Two members of the Assumption College baseball team were honored, as junior catcher Andrew Jaehnig (Quincy, Mass. / Boston College) was named the Worcester Area Player of the Year and also to the First Team, while freshman second baseman Jared Brescia (Brentwood, N.H. / Exeter) was selected to the Second Team.

The Lead: Senior Danny Hoffer (Yonkers, N.Y. / Stepinac / University of Maine) earned his first collegiate win on the mound and classmates Tom Brengal (Hicksville, N.Y. / Holy Trinity) and Kevin O?Connor (Leominster, Mass. / Leominster) each recorded their first hits at the plate as Assumption took down Bentley 14-2 on senior day.
The Lead: The Assumption College baseball team defeated Bentley 11-10 today in 14 innings at Rocheleau Field. The Hounds led 9-4 at one point before falling behind 10-9 in the tenth inning and rallying to win.
The Lead: Southern New Hampshire completed the weekend series sweep of the Assumption baseball team, defeating the Hounds , as the Penmen controlled the bases with 10 stolen bases in the game.
The Lead: Southern New Hampshire swept a pair of games today at Rocheleau field, defeating Assumption 12-6 in the first game, before pulling out a 5-4 win in game two where freshman Ben Curry (Derry, N.H. / Pinkerton Academy) was thrown out at the plate trying to score the game tying run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
The Lead: Merrimack received a huge day from Cam DiSarcina, who finished 5-for-5 with walk, two homeruns, four RBI and five runs as the Warriors cruised their way to a 16-1 win today.
Junior Kyle Chudoba (Oxford, Conn. / Oxford) and Stonehill’s Patrick Hurley were locked in a pitcher’s duel for the majority of the game as the teams went to extra innings tied at 1-1. The Skyhawks eventually scored in the bottom of the tenth inning to win as the Hounds couldn’t capitalize on a bases loaded opportunity in the top of the ninth inning.

Junior Tom Horstkotte (Milford, Mass. / St. John's) fanned a career high 15 batters and pitched 8.0 innings of one run ball as the Assumption College baseball team completed the weekend sweep of Saint Anselm today at Rocheleau Field.
The Lead: The Assumption baseball team used a pair of strong pitching performances and outhit Saint Anselm 17-3 over the course of the doubleheader to earn the divisional sweep today.
The Lead: The Assumption baseball team struggled to string hits together today as Merrimack’s PJ Browne tossed a four hit shutout to give the Warriors a 3-0 divisional win.
The Assumption College baseball team swept today’s doubleheader against Saint Michael’s, as its offense exploded for 30 hits and 26 runs over the course of the two games.
The Lead: With the score tied 2-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Saint Michael’s tagged Assumption for five runs to win their first NE10 contest of the season at Doc Jacobs Field in Colchester, Vermont.
The Lead: The Assumption College baseball team collected three extra base hits including freshman R.J. Libby (Middleton, Mass. / Bishop Fenwick) first career home run, but were unable to hold on as Stonehill rallied for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to earn the win at Lou Gorman Field today.
The Lead: Assumption exploded for 11 runs in the opening three innings and held on to earn their first divisional win against Stonehill heading into a big week of action.
The Lead: Assumption held a two-run lead late in game one of the doubleheader before Adelphi rallied to claim the opener. The Panthers then exploded for 15 runs in game two to sweep the interdivisional series.
The Lead: The Assumption College baseball team split today’s doubleheader with Pace University, as the Setters took game one 8-6, before the Hounds took the nightcap 2-1.
The Lead: Assumption took an early 1-0 lead and reached base on a consistent clip throughout the game, but were unable to capitalize on it as the Hounds stranded 11 runners on base. Merrimack took advantage and pulled away with a 5-1 win.
The Lead: Assumption fell into an early hole as Franklin Pierce scored five first inning runs and the Hounds couldn’t climb out of it as they fell to the Ravens by a score of 18-3.
The Lead: Franklin Pierce used a pair of strong pitching performances as both starters registered a complete game shutout, keeping Assumption scoreless through the doubleheader. The Hounds will look to bounce back tomorrow as the two teams play a third game at 3:00 p.m.
